Pacewell Privacy Policy
Effective October 29, 2026 ยท Published by The News Bakery LLC
Pacewell ("the app") is an energy pacing planner and log for people living with energy-limiting illness. This policy explains what happens to the information you enter.
What the app stores
The app stores what you enter: your energy budget and settings, your activities and their costs, your daily plans and what you did, morning check-ins, the kind of day, crash logs and their notes, optional daily counters, and questions for your clinician. All of it is saved only on your device, in the app's private storage.
What we collect
Nothing. We do not collect, receive or store any of your data. The app has no account, no sign-in, no server, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it contains no third-party code that sends data anywhere. Nothing you enter is sent to us or to anyone else.
Nothing is measured
The app does not read heart rate, steps, sleep or any other sensor, and it does not connect to Apple Health, Health Connect or any wearable. It only keeps what you type or tap.
Cloud backups
The app keeps its data out of iCloud Backup and Android's cloud backup and device transfer, so your notes are not copied to a cloud account by the app. To move to a new phone, you make a backup file yourself (see below).
When information leaves your device
Only when you choose to share it. A Pacing Report PDF, a "How today is" note, a CSV export or a backup file is made on your device and goes only where you send it with your phone's share sheet, for example to a printer, an email, a text message or your files. Once you send it, the app or service you chose handles it under its own terms.
Permissions
The app asks for a permission only when you use the feature that needs it: notifications for reminders you turn on, and Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint or your passcode when you turn on the app lock. The app never sees your fingerprint, face or passcode; your phone checks them and tells the app only whether it worked.
Purchases
The app is free to try for 7 days, then one in-app purchase unlocks it. Apple or Google handles the payment under their own terms, and we never receive your payment details. The app only asks the store, on your device, whether the unlock or the free trial item was taken, and keeps that answer and the trial date on your device.
Reminders
Reminders are scheduled by your phone itself. No data is sent to a server to do this.
Deleting your data
You can delete any activity, plan item, crash log or note in the app. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes everything. Backup files you saved yourself stay where you saved them until you delete them. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete.
Children
The app is meant for adults. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Not medical advice
The app is a planner and a log. It does not give medical advice, recommend a budget, judge whether an activity is safe, predict crashes or interpret symptoms. Talk with your clinician about pacing.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
