The News Bakery App Studio designs, builds and launches iPhone and Android apps for small businesses, creators and solo founders. We also make simple, private apps of our own.
What we do
Custom apps. We turn your idea into a finished app in the App Store and Google Play. You see and approve every screen before we write any code, you pay a fixed price, and you own the app. See custom apps for your business.
Our own apps. We make 10 apps of our own: health journals, a caregiver log, a mileage log, an envelope budget, an energy pacing planner and a voice journal. Each one is $4.99 once, with no subscription, no ads and no account, and your entries stay on your phone. See the apps.
How we work
- Everything in writing. Requests, mockups, approvals and support all happen by email, so every decision is written down. We do not take phone calls.
- Real people. The same small team builds every app and reads every email.
- Privacy first. Our own apps keep your data on your phone, and this website uses no cookies, analytics or trackers.
- Plain prices. Builds have a fixed price agreed before work starts, and our own apps cost the same small amount once.
Where the name comes from
The News Bakery started as a news site. The news is gone, and the bakery now bakes apps instead. Pages from our older bakebuilt.com site have moved here too, and old links forward automatically.

The News Bakery App Studio is the trade name of The News Bakery LLC, an independent company in the United States.
