Terms of Use

Last updated November 2, 2026

These terms cover thenewsbakery.com and the apps we publish under The News Bakery name. "We", "us" and "our" mean The News Bakery LLC, doing business as The News Bakery App Studio. By using this website or one of our apps, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

1. Our apps

Our apps are sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Each one costs $4.99 once, unless its store listing says otherwise. There is no subscription and no ads. The store's own terms also apply to your purchase, including Apple's standard license agreement for apps from the App Store.

Buying an app gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use it on devices you own or control, as the store allows. You may not copy, resell, rent or redistribute the app, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.

2. Your data stays on your phone

Our apps have no accounts. What you enter is stored on your device, and we do not receive, see or keep it. That also means we cannot recover it for you. You are responsible for your own backups; the support page shows how to make one. Each app's privacy policy explains the details.

3. Logs, not advice

Our health journals are personal logs and diaries. They do not diagnose, treat or measure anything, and they are not medical devices. Talk to your doctor about your health and your readings. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.

Our mileage log and budget apps are record keeping tools, not tax, legal or financial advice. Check with a tax professional about what you can deduct and what records you need.

4. Refunds

Apple and Google process all app purchases, so refunds follow their policies and are requested through them. If you get stuck, contact us and we will help where we can.

5. Updates and availability

We may update, change or stop offering an app or a feature. Updates come through the App Store or Google Play. We try to keep the apps working on current phones, but we cannot promise that every app will work on every device or operating system version forever.

6. Custom app services

If you hire us to design or build an app, a separate written client agreement and project order cover that work, including prices, payment, ownership, refunds and support. You review and sign it before any work starts, and it controls if it differs from these terms. Prices and plans on our custom apps page are information, not an offer, and they can change until they are confirmed in your signed agreement.

7. This website

You may read, share and link to this website. Our free guides and printables are for personal use and general information only, and they are not professional advice. Please do not copy the site or its content for commercial use, scrape it, or try to disrupt it.

8. Our name and content

The News Bakery name, logo, apps, screenshots and website content belong to The News Bakery LLC or its licensors. Apple, App Store, iPhone, Google Play and Android are trademarks of their owners.

9. No warranty

To the fullest extent the law allows, the website and our apps are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

10. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of the website or our apps. Our total liability for any claim about an app is limited to the amount you paid for that app. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Nothing here takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws where you live.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using the website or our apps after a change, the updated terms apply.
